content indexing

Post by flubber »

Hi!
[1416b] 2nd July 2026
. . .
moved content indexing options to advanced.
. . .
Why? I liked to use this on Quarterly financial statements to browse through the PDFs from the last quarter. The next day, I would remove it again.

Using the Advanced tab is ... confusing.

Thanks for reading, flubber

Nothing has changed for content indexing.
Only the place where the config is made.
No one does change these settings all the time.
So what's the problem ?

I don't have a 1416b instance set up, what does it look like?

It reads like it's now unnecessarily tedious to modify content indexing settings.

An option would be, for example, to change the setting in the Everything.ini file (after that, Everything will restart):
content_indexing_enabled=1   ENABLE content indexing
content_indexing_enabled=0   DISABLE content indexing
content_indexing_enabled
