Windows 7 - doesn't search as-I-type

Hello,
Everything was the first tool I used to install on XP and what I loved most was the search-as-I-type functionality which is (on my machine) missed on W7 laptop - now I have to put whole word to be search or at least .extension (to search for every word that match i need to put * wildcard before/after). Is it normal behaviour? Any suggestions?

Please make sure match whole word is diabled.

To disable match whole word:

• In "Everything", from the Search menu, uncheck Match Whole Word.

I reviewed all the options looking for this preference but didn't check the Search menu... now it works perfectly thanks
