Is there a general filter to exclude certain search results?

For example, instead of writing !*.aimppl4 into every individual filter, a generic list to hide certain names or file types?

Omitting results would be a good way to accomplish this.

For this case, use a custom filter. Hovering the text field gives you syntax and useful tips (see screenshot)
