What seems to be the problem?

"Everything" is working on Windows 8 x64 here.

I assume you are not getting any search results.

If so, please make sure you run "Everything" with administrative privileges. (Recommended)

-or-

Manually add the folders you wish to index from Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Folders.

To always run as Administrator:

• From the Desktop, right click the Everything shortcut.
• Click the Compatibility Tab.
• Check Run this program as an administrator.
• Click OK.

I have this same problem, and I am running as an admin.

I think it is not recognizing my Drives for some reason:



The drive says it is NTFS (and the 1.2.* version used to work without any issues.)

One more thing: The install folder does not have any ini file.

Are you certain that you exited Everything, completely (check for a Tray icon), before "running as administrator"?

Yes, and at this point I have tried multiple times, but it does not show my local drives.

I tried adding my work folder (from my local drive) to the Indexes > Folders and it is working fine.

Try restarting Windows, there's an issue with "Everything" not getting administrative privileges even though you run it with them after installing it for the first time.

Yes, the same problem on my computer. window 7 x64.
And it works after I set "run as Administrator" and restart the computer.
