poll_opened_files_rate
Set to the rate in milliseconds to gather all opened file handles on the system.
Default: poll_opened_files_rate=1000
Which rate of 1,000 milliseconds seems to match I/O Disk Read activity in my Win7 Task manager. The disk-drive light flashes about once a second.
Is this the setting I should change, perhaps to 10,000 milli-seconds if I wanted to see the impact of Everything on this old DELL laptop?
Thanks, Chris

Thanks for this response Void; I'll set the interval to ten seconds tomorrow. I am trying to track down what/who is thrashing my hard drive on this 10+ year old DELL Win7. My money is on Firefox, but in Task Manager I had noticed that Everything increased the "I/O Disk Reads" about once a second, which prompted me to ask ...

Here is my default screen when I first open Everything.
I spend most of my life in Word2003 DOCuments.
I spend most of my life in Detail view.
Please check the resource monitor to see which files Everything is reading.
From the Start menu, search for resource monitor
Click Resource Monitor.
Click the Disk tab.
Check the Everything process.
Could you please send a screenshot of the disk to support@voidtools.com

Void, the item "Everything.exe" is a bit of a moving target in these screens.
From what I can see the Bit Rate is reducing, so it may well be that when I view resource Monitor I see the Bit rate CHANGING but had not noticed that it was, of course, trending towards zero over time.
Cheers, Chris
