question about the Portable version

The installation of the Portable version is described in the help file as follows:"The user must extract the Everything.exe to the desired location.". I wonder if this desired location refers to any location in the computer. Because in the Chinese version, it is translated to the "specified" location.

It can be pretty much put anywhere (allowing for operating system restrictions).

I have had portable Everything in several locations, and indeed have several instances in different locations.

I recommend extracting to a location where Everything.exe will have write permissions.

Typically, C:\Program Files will not have write permission.
