How can I update the physical database without closing the application?

To update the database on disk:

Launch Everything with the -save-db command line option:

Everything64.exe -save-db

-save-db
-save-db-now


-or-


Execute the /save-db search command:

Type in the following search and press ENTER:
/save-db

/save-db
/save-db-now
