Please try enabling automatically remove offline volumes:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab on the left.
• Check automatically remove offline volumes
• Click OK.

It would be nice if you could pin hard drives so that the script never forgets the hard drives you've told it to remember. So I tell Everything "pin this hard drive," and it asks me for the name. Then, if I search for a file and I don't remember exactly which external hard drive it's on, the script (in offline searches) shows me the name I gave it and the path, so I know exactly which hard drive to connect to find my file.

I hope this is an interesting idea and that others will appreciate it too. Thanks as always for your kindness.
