Firefox just came out with a new feature called Unload Tab. FF was having a huge memory problem when a lot of tabs were open. This fixes that problem. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/un ... ge-firefox
Can you add a feature that accomplishes the same thing? As I do with FF, I always have a lot of Everything results open. I notice a higher memory use, and it affects the performance of my PC as FF did before the update.

I have put on my TODO list to add an option to unload tabs and to add an option to not load inactive tabs on startup.

That [FF] "support" page sure doesn't give you much "support".
If that's all they're going to say, why even bother!
Over time, there have been any number of "unload tab" extensions for FF.
By default, FF does not fully load tabs that have not been accessed (on Session Restore).
By default, FF releases resources of closed tabs [at some point].
So what this "Unload Tab" does, more, well, I guess you have to read their "support" to find out

The feature can be useful in some situations, for instance when the device is low on memory or when a website is "misbehaving" and consuming way too much memory or CPU.
Like really. Like an end user would even know that their system is "low on memory", much less that some particular website is "misbehaving" such that a user would specifically go out & "unload" that tab. [Is it any reason that FF is in the state it is.]

Well, I can only speak for myself. I wasn't aware of the extensions for that. FF constantly locked up after having a ton of tabs open. It was locked up before this last update and fortunately, the update forced it to close and operate normally after the installation, and my unloading of almost all of the tabs. I see a huge difference in my PC's performance after unloading.
I'm glad that 'void' is going to add the feature to unload memory in Everything.
