Preview...cant preview pdf files

Hi,

Can prevoew word & excel docs but not pdf's?

Have changed my pdf viewer but no diff...changed from Pdf24 to pdfescape desktop. Is pdf preview only compatyible with certain programs?

Everything PDF preview is compatible with any previewer which works in Explorer preview.
I guess pdfescape doesn't have any Explorer preview function.
From their web page description, it's completely useless in this case.

So the PDF previews are shown in Explorer but not in Everything (they use the same technology)?

Most likely cause: Everything is running as administrator
Running as administrator gives you limited functionality and should only be used in specific edge cases.


Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and is not running as administrator:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

Thanks for these steps.

It seems the preview works for all doc types (word, excel etc) other than pdf.

I think theres something wrong with my preview in general outside of everything:

Nothing previews in windows explorer at all ( not even word, excel) only file tyoe that previews are image files gif, ico & png.

I get the source of this isnt everything but any pointer to restore this please?
