Hashing files on external drive?
I use sha-256 for comparing files and finding duplicates. I have the sha-256 property enabled for a number of file extensions and that works fine on my regular drives. But on an external drive that I'm working with right now, I'm only seeing the hash for filenames that start with a period. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Re: Hashing files on external drive?
Thanks! Selecting a few of those files and using Ctrl-F5 did not do anything for me unfortunately. BTW, I'm grabbing a few attributes for these files (such as Date Taken...these are photos) and I noticed that these files have none of the attributes retrieved.

Is Everything still indexing properties? -Shown in the status bar on the right.
It will take a very long time to index sha256.
Ctrl + F5 will add your files to the end of the queue.
Could you please send your Help -> Troubleshooting information -> properties

Re: Hashing files on external drive?
It was not indexing. However, I realized I wasn't running the latest version and after upgrading, I now see that it's indexing. Not sure what the original issue was but it sounds like the upgrade took care of it

What version were you running when it was not working as expected?
