Navigate to the parant folder, one hierarchy up?
Navigate to the parant folder, one hierarchy up?
How could one navigate to the parant folder, one hierarchy up? So in the result list it shown a folder one has searched for and now one wants to go up to its parant folder (without having to click / scroll in the folder pane).
Is there a way to navigate like it is possible in that Win Explorer? By clicking / pressing a key / shortcut, icon or so?

Re: Navigate to the parant folder, one hierarchy up?
I'll add a command to do this.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Many thanks!
Maybe a "back" command, too. To go back to the folder / result(list) being displayed before and before the last one, etc. Like using the BACK key in a browser.
So now the fastest / only way to navigate is to click / scroll to the folder in the folder panel?

Re: Navigate to the parant folder, one hierarchy up?
If the Tree has the focus (or can be given the focus by a click or Shift-Tab) I use the left-arrow to move up one (it may collapse the tree there and need a second tap). This is mostly useful if it's a hassle to find the parent in the tree. I repeat to continue up the tree. The other three arrow keys move up/down siblings and into subfolders (rightarrow).
If the results list has the focus rather than Shift-Tab LeftArrow it would be quite nice to use Alt-uparrow to move the side folder up 1, and Alt-Shift-leftarrow to move the selected item's path to the side folder and clear or ignore any path search element (currently I would drag the item onto the title 'Folders' and click the X against the search line).
Moving back to a prior search I use Alt-leftarrow. You have to enable search history under Tools - Options - History

Ah yes, that is great! The works only for searches done after opening a search window? When closing it an open a search window ALT+LEFTARROW do not have any effect?Moving back to a prior search I use Alt-leftarrow. You have to enable search history under Tools - Options - History

Yes just the window open (just checked). I presume if you had several windows open and closed them it wouldn't know which one you wanted, and whether you wanted the 'back' to go back through a merged history of all of them or just the last window closed...

But you can check the box to keep a search history and use Ctrl-Shift-H to choose a past search.

Maybe Everything just could take for granted that all of the items are wanted (if there is no such setting to set that), so an item just needed to be skipped instead of missing an item being wanted.I presume if you had several windows open and closed them it wouldn't know which one you wanted, and whether you wanted the 'back' to go back through a merged history of all of them or just the last window closed...

Re: Navigate to the parant folder, one hierarchy up?
Everything 1.5.0.1330a adds an Alt + Up keyboard shortcut to go "up one dir".
The keyboard shortcut Alt + Up works from anywhere except the search box.
This command only works when the folder sidebar is shown and there is a selected folder.
To customize this keyboard shortcut:
Backspace in the folder sidebar will also go up one directory.
