delay when opening files associated with winamp

Any time I open a file that is supposed to open in winamp it hangs for around 20 seconds. Doesn't matter if I double click or right click and choose open or one of the winamp shell extensions. If I drag files straight into winamp's playlist there is no issue. To find and open songs is what I use this program for 90% of the time so this is a big hassle.

What version of Winamp?

What version of Everything?
If not 1.2.1.451a, then update to that & see if anything changes?

Hanging on Context Menu


(I typically use MPlayer for all my media & have no issues.)

Are you running Everything as administrator?

Please try running Everything as a standard user and installing the Everything service:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Everything service.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Click OK.
  • Restart Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
