Is Force Rebuild necessary from time to time in order to tidy up a "tangled" index? I'm thinking of doing this largely for performance reasons. Or does the index look after itself?
(I'm not referring to times when the indexes omit a file and needs a rebuild for that reason.)

Re: "Force rebuild"
For me it was only necessary after some Windows updates in the past.

Re: "Force rebuild"
There is no performance reasons to rebuild your indexes.
For Everything 1.4, forcing a rebuild is needed to pick up new, modified and deleted hard links.
For Everything 1.5+, forcing a rebuild is needed to pick up deleted hard links.
Forcing a rebuild might be required to pickup any files that have been excluded (Tools -> Options -> Exclude) and should now be included. (By either moving or changing file attributes)
