stop hovering

Is there an option to enable/disable mouse hovering over the menus?

If I just hover over menu items it's fine but if I then click on the menu any item the mouse hovers over opens.

I looked through the ini file but I couldn't seem to find anything to stop this behaviour.

Isn't this the normal Windows behavior?
Could you please expand on the issue.

When the Everything window is full screen it's not a problem but when the window is reduced some of the pop up menus completely hide the Everthing window so that I have to either press esc or click somewhere else on the screen to get rid of the menu.

If the window is higher up on the screen the menu is still visible so hovering over the menu items isn't a problem but if the Everything window is lower down the window and the menu items are completely covered.
