[Solved] 1238a - sort by size (folders)

On 1238a:
- do a search => search result = files and folders
- sort them by size
=> the folders disappear from the search result
Is it on purpose like this?

I guess you have not set Index folder size under Tools / Options / Indexes

There is a sub-forum for Everything 1.5
viewforum.php?f=12

The folders are still there, but files are shown first. When you go to the end of the result list, you will find your folders

in Everything 1.5 you can also mix files and folders together in the list:

Menu:View > Sort By > Mix files and folders.

For Index folder size = ON, the folders are listed
but
if Index folder size = OFF the folders disappear immediately after sorting by size (in 1007, they are listed all the time, on top or on the bottom of the list).
Also the number of objects on the status bar is changed after size sorting (it decrease with the number of folders).

That is peculiar... Here the folders are still shown:


The only explanation I have is that you added a

size:

to your query. As folders don't have any size - as far as Everything is aware of - they will not be listed.

Other than that: no clue. We will have to wait for @void's insights, I guess ...

the issue is occuring when Fast size sort = OFF

So, if you add

folder:

to your search query, zero results are shown? (Just checking, to be certain)

EDIT:

I can reproduce this. When Fast Sort is unchecked and the results are sorted by Size (either ascending or descending) folders are no longer shown.

If I search for folder:ever i have folders in list but after I press Size the folder disappear from list (zero results).
1007 it's OK.

Everything was clearing all folder results by mistake.

Please try the latest Everything 1.5 Alpha.

Version 1.5.0.1239a fixes an issue with sorting folders by unindexed size.
