I'll often use Everything as a starting point
for my duplicate file finds.
Passing files or directories to other utilities depending on circumstances.
Like I search for 'xp .iso' & I come across two differently named, but same sized files.
I don't know if they are physically the same, until I generate checksums on the files.
In this instance, I'll right-click & Sendto -> Hasher
. (And look, he just released a new version
MP3s or movie clips, which I keep in a state of chaos, I'll use Everything to search for artists or name, & every so often clean things up, moving stuff (which you can do by dragging directly from Everything) into some sort of normal directory structure. Then I'll use a true duplicate file finder, Easy Duplicate Finder
, Duplicate & Same Files Searcher
or similar (depending on needs) to root out the dups.
