"double the search field"

Post by mih » Fri Oct 16, 2015 1:44 pm

I propose to add the option to "double the search field". Rows of these fields are combined by a logical "and". This is useful when a part of the search string is often changed, and another part - constant: there is no need for precise selection.

I set up a Filter to do that.

Search | Organize Filters -> New

So if I'm looking for songs name "purple trees", I make the filter Search:

audio: "purple trees"

Give it the name, TREES.

Then in Everything, select the TREES filter, & on the search line, all I need to enter is 'green' to find the songs 'purple trees green', or 'polka dot' to find songs named 'purple trees polka dot'.

The Filter, TREES, is your constant, & your actual Search term is the variable.

Not comfortable to change part of a string (highlight part) — it is necessary to aim.
Select all - much easier.
