FWIW, I use this every day, and while I'd like to see new versions, the .451 version works great for me. Exactly what is everyone wanting to get in a new version?
I'm running the above named version, and I have a consistent issue. If I use a rename utility to rename a bunch of files in a folder structure, Everything suddenly thinks that folder is empty. Even turning off the DB for the folder and then turning it back on again doesn't regenerate the database. I...
Any way to disable those keys? I use Ctrl-W to close browser tabs, so that's quite possible, it's programmed on my mouse. I didn't even realize there were shortcut keys! I'm glad to find out what was causing it, it was driving me nuts. Never mind, I found all the keys under options, so I'll ki...
I just discovered that option trolling through the options list, I was coming here to post that bit of information. My question is, why does that get randomly set? I'm 100% certain that I've never gone into the options and set the option, and clearly it wasn't set when it was working as I expected, ...
OK, here's the failure. here are two screen shots, one when I right click on C: in My Computer, the second when I clear the search line completely. Note the one when I right click on the C: drive in My Computer, that's all I get. If I clear the search argument, it finds everything in the database on...
Does deleting the Everything.db file fix the problem? How many volumes do you have? does this only happen on one of the volumes? Are the files compressed or encrypted? I didn't try deleting the database, truthfully I didn't think of that. What fixed it is when I totally uninstalled it and started f...
I have an odd problem with Everything-1.2.1.426a running on Win7 64 bit. Ever once in a while it will suddenly lose almost all of it's database, or at least access to it. It still shows me a few items, usually the contents of the recycle bin and the root of the drive. I don't know what triggers this...
Is there any way to set the volume index defaults so that Everything doesn't try to index the volume unless I want it to? I have a bunch of removable drives that get connected from time to time, but I always have to manually stop Everything from indexing them to safely remove them. I'd just like to ...
FWIW, I've hidden the tray icon with Win7. I always use Everything from Windows Explorer, right click on the folder or drive in question and Search Everything. It's rare I want to search the whole computer since there are 2TB of data on three drives there.
I'll post a "me too" here as well. :D I found that the new search for Window 7 sucks big time, it's so cumbersome it's unusable! This works better than any Windows search ever has, and is lightning fast to boot. Most folks use search to look for files, not content, this does the job great! I never e...
OK, I increased those USN Journal values to 32768 and the Allocation Data to 4096, which were the values that originally came up for my boot volume. I also copied the alpha in and renamed it and started it. It appears to have some new options, I guess I'll have to figure those out. I also notice tha...
I am running the current version of Everything (1.2.1.371), for the most part it's slick as snot . I have one small issue that I see now, it appears it's not updating the indexes reliably. I deleted a folder and some other files a few days ago, they still appear in the Everything search. I know it's...
