Each time I hit the del key, the file is deleted (correctly) and the search field comes to focus. I don't see that behavior in 1.4. Other then the large number of files (how large, though still shouldn't cause issues), doing anything particular prior to the issue, particular settings you have enabled, particular search that may be the cause ...?Frequently Everything will lock up for long periods of time saying "not responding".

It should be returning everything.
So you should be seeing:

If you added the parent:, mentioned above, that would restrict your results.

Horizontal layout is fine. Having the directory name (rather then "Parent Folder") is fine. The only benefit I see to having the initial "Parent Folder" (rather then the directory name) is with that, all actions related to a particular directory are displayed directly underneath said directory name ...
