cannot find cryptomator drive

Post by makan »

Hi,

is there anyone here who uses Everything to indexing files on the Cryptomator vault drive?
Currently, I cannot add my vault drive to Everything because of Everything cannot recognize my Z:\ drive

thank you

I'm not familiar with cryptomator, but I guess it uses a virtual filesystem and Everything can't access those.

To check if this is the case:
  • Start CMD.exe
  • type dir Z:\ and press ENTER
If the files on Z:\ are shown in the CMD output, it should be possible to make cryptomator work with Everything.

You have to use Everything Folder indexing
Cryptomator drives are not fully NTFS drives.

You are probably running Everything as administrator (some drive settings are per-user instead of per-machine)
Enable Everything Service and disable Run as Administrator.
Both can be found under Menu:Tools > Options > General

Does that make your Z:-drive visible again?

Thanks for letting us know the results!

So, for other people that want to make Everything work with cyptomator:
  • Use Folder Indexing (Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders ) instead of NTFS Indexing
  • Enable Everything Service (Menu:Tools > Options > General)
  • Disable Run as administrator (also under Menu:Tools > Options > General)

Is that correct?

Hi. I just wanted to say that I had the exact same problem (exact, down to the same drive letter I mount my Cryptomator files to!) and this was exactly the solution. Thank you both!
